The Xàbia City Council has decreed the closure and cessation of activity of seven restaurants and leisure establishments located at the Punta del Arenal for lacking the mandatory opening license.

The premises opened to the public in their day through a "responsible declaration", a temporary and regulated document that is valid while the Administration resolves the definitive activity license, as this is a complicated procedure that can take time.

However, during the processing, both this City Council and other competent administrations have detected deficiencies that prevent them from granting this license. Deficiencies that during the time that the files have been open, have not been corrected by any of these seven premises.
At the same time, some of the premises have been sanctioned for failing to comply with other regulations, such as noise or safety regulations.

With the resolution of mandatory cessation of activity, which has been notified to those affected in recent days, the municipal administrative file is closed. Those responsible for the premises have a maximum period of ten days from receipt of the decree to make the closure of the premises effective.

As of that date, an inspection will be carried out to verify if the closing has been fulfilled and, if not, the subsidiary execution of the agreement will be activated.

The businesses will be able to reopen once the definitive activity license has been obtained, for which they will have to previously correct all the deficiencies of which they have been warned in the different phases of their files.
