'Xàbia Negra' lives a weekend full of public and participation

In just one year the festival Black Xàbia, of literature, film and photography of gender has managed to consolidate itself demonstrating this way the numerous public that has participated in each activity.

This second edition has counted with the participation of authors such as Ferran Torrent, Xavi Aliaga, Bernardo Carrión, Nieves Abarca, Toni Hill, Santiago Álvarez and Vicente Garrido. In addition, representatives of the veteran and prestigious festival have participated as a novelty Bloody Scotland, with whom Black Xàbia has established a collaborative relationship. It's about Gordon Brown, Craig Robertson and Alexandra Sokoloff.

Other outstanding parts of this festival are the different round tables held, which were carried out by several authors and also had a large audience during the three days. At the opening table, in addition, part of the new novel by Nieves Abarca and Vicente Garrido was read, as well as the prologue of the new by Toni Hill.

On the other hand, one of the encounters that raised the most excitement was the monograph about the work of Ferrán Torrent, led by the writer of Xàtiva, Xavier Aliaga and that left several important revelations about literature, society and Valencian politics. Among the many people who came to this talk were
found the Minister of Finance, Vicente Soler, who also attended the presentation of the historian Vicent Baydal and the novelist Bernardo Carrión on historical and contemporary crimes.

In the part cinematographic, to the good quality of the shorts to contest has been added in this edition a round table on the keys of the black genre in charge of the director Miguel Velilla and the critic and writer Santiago Álvarez. This part of the festival has had the collaboration of l'Escola de Cine Riurau, who have been in charge of the viewing, selection and management of the pieces to contest.

Also, in photography, managed by the Agrupació Fotogràfica de Xàbia Images from around the world were received near 250, from which a selection of the best ones can be seen throughout the month of November at the Mercat Municipal.

In this same space, on Saturday, the second edition of the Fireta del llibre was held, which included the opening of the Ambassador of the 2017 Reading, the writer and artist Anna Moner. Moner also presented his exhibition Els Cossos Agredits, located in the Museu de Xàbia.

The councilman of Culture, Quico MoraguesHe expressed his satisfaction with the growth of the festival and stated that "Xàbia Negra is already part of the cultural offer of our town. In a very short time we have managed to have a more than worthy proposal within the Spanish panorama and we are going to work so that it does not stop growing ".

Winners

The final gala of Xàbia Negra was held at the Jayán cinema and featured, as a novelty, with the participation of the theater group garum that, under the direction of the actress Imma Sancho, interpreted four pieces of the acquaintance Bloody Mary Show. You could also see the three short finalists, the best photos to contest and enjoy costume proposal Black of the members of the Photographic Association of Xàbia.

Quelo Romero was the winner of the story contest for his narration MilhmensMiguel Velilla won short films with My Own Life and Juan Luis Durán won in photography with The condolences. Out of comxicotetion, a posthumous tribute was made to Federico Ibáñez, whose story has been published A cas resolt: that of l'alemanya, the farmer and the shepherd.

Also, for the first time, story rewards were given to students of the IES Antoni Llidó and Nº1, convened by the departments of Castilian and Valencian.

The gala and the festival were closed with the intervention of the Mayor of Xàbia, José Chulvi, who highlighted the importance of cultural programming as a way to achieve "A more open, more reflective and freer society". For his part, the mayor highlighted the great work of all the groups that have participated in the development of the festival and put in value "That a cultural proposal be able to go out to
the street and to help energize Xàbia from the associations outside the summer season ".
