The Alicante Provincial Council has launched a training plan on the audiovisual industry with the aim of instructing and continuing to support the work carried out by municipal technicians in tasks related to the Film Office. The Provincial Tourist Board, which since 2018 has been working with this product through the Costa Blanca Film Commission, has launched the 'I Conference on Shooting and Cinematographic Tourism' that start today in telematic format and that will take place during three more sessions, on April 29 and May 4 and 6.

The two-hour classes will have the experience of professionals linked to the subject, from production companies, audiovisual associations, audiovisual services or cultural entities, as well as technicians and managers of this product in the Generalitat Valenciana. During the presentations, success stories such as the capture and management of filming by the team from the Benidorm office will be explained.

The operation and activity of a Film Office, audiovisual production, filming or film tourism are some of the issues that will take place during the sessions, to which several municipalities in the province of Alicante have already attended, including Xàbia.

The director of the Costa Blanca Board of Trustees, José Mancebo, has highlighted the importance of this market niche for attracting production companies that have in the province "an exceptional offer of locations and services to host all kinds of audiovisual projects."

The tourism manager has indicated that this first training day was born with the purpose of "making the most of the potential of our municipalities as the setting for spots, documentaries, music videos, small or large productions, films or shorts", while at the same time it has advanced that short-term forecasts are good.

The Provincial Tourist Board, through the Costa Blanca Film Commission, has been working for months together with the municipalities of the territory in the reactivation of this sector that generates significant economic and promotional benefits. Along these lines, the advisory service has been increased, administrative procedures have been speeded up to facilitate the management of filming permits and anti-Covid hygienic measures have been intensified to guarantee the safety of professionals.
