El Javea Town Hall is preparing a new line of aid to businesses and activities in sectors that have been left out of the Paréntesis line and that have also suffered obvious economic consequences of the coronavirus crisis.
In this case, the grants will come entirely from municipal funds and are independent - and compatible - with those of the Resistir Plan. The call, which has a budget of 1 million euros, pays special attention to the professional sectors and businesses of products related to parties and celebrations: from popular festivities to private celebrations such as weddings or children's parties .
Clothing, textile, jewelry, haberdashery, shoe stores, toy stores, flower shops, stationery or gift and craft shops, pastry shops and confectioneries, activities such as photographic services, printing, hairdressers or beauty salons, makeup or sewing are included. among others.
"It will be a different call" the mayor explained, José Chulvi, open “For those who have been able to work, but due to the circumstances we live in, the demand for their products or services is much lower. It is especially focused on small businesses that have suffered so much and that is so important for the people ", adds the first mayor.
With these economic aid, of 2.000 euros and up to a maximum of 3.000 euros, the Xàbia City Council wants to contribute to the maintenance of the usual business expenses that have seen their income decrease drastically and thus facilitate their economic viability.
The call also has a second block for freelancers or SMEs with more than 10 workers from the sectors included in the Paréntesis aid (more linked to the hotel and tourism industry), since they were left out of this line due to excess personnel.
This new line of aid has been presented today by the mayor to the board of spokesmen and this afternoon to the merchants associations so that they inform their associates. With this new action, Xàbia continues to activate all its resources to respond to the social and economic crisis derived from the pandemic. In this first quarter of 2021, the council has already budgeted 1,5 million for direct aid to the self-employed and entrepreneurs; one million for a social employment plan and 750.000 euros for social benefits.
Now it adds another million for aid to trade with which the total budget mobilized is 4 million, in addition to the exemption of fees for opening businesses and occupation of public roads.
