The State Meteorological Agency has activated the orange alert on the north coast of the province of Alicante, due to the risk of storms and probable episodes of hail and storms. According to the AEMET, rainfall could accumulate up to 40 mm per hour until midnight.
Given this forecast, the City Council has activated all the usual preventive measures, especially in the most flooded areas such as Arenal. Also the mayor, José Chulvi, and the councilor for Citizen Security and Emergency Prevention, Pepa Gisbert, have held a coordination meeting with the Local Police to specify the means of response available both at the municipal level and at the Civil Protection and Red Cross levels.
Citizens are advised to take all possible precautions to avoid material damage (check terrace drains and downspouts), avoid access through ravines and floodplains and follow the instructions of the security forces regarding security.
