Xàbia opens a new canine area in the Montaner Park

05 March 2019 - 11: 08

The Department of Services of the Javea Town Hall has enabled a new canine area in Montaner Park, next to Plaza Constitución. The enclosure, fenced and with double security door, is specially designed so that pets can run freely while their walkers rest in a place equipped with benches and shaded by trees.

The space also has bins so they can deposit the bags with dog droppings. The Montaner Park is the second canine park in the municipality, since from 2015 there is another large area in the area of Pou del Moro, which together with the so-called pipicans create the network of public endowments designed so that the
coexistence between people and pets is more civic and generates fewer problems, especially the most common that are related to the presence of excrement on public roads.

Councilwoman Services, Kika Mata, hopes that this new space will be used responsibly, complying with the basic hygiene and safety regulations, such as collecting pet droppings, using the leash to leave and enter the place and take the dogs properly identified and vaccinated. Among the prohibitions is to mistreat the animals and take them to this space of coexistence when they are sick, in heat or have problems of aggression.

It is also noted that young children should be accompanied by an adult to avoid accidents with larger dogs.
