A group of 50 residents residing in the Colomer-partida Valls Carrasquetes area that includes Italia, Francia and Cantallops streets will present allegations before the draft of the future General Urban Planning Plan that the Town hall has created.
According to the neighbors, the new plan contemplates the creation of a road of 16 meters wide by this area that would cross Xàbia without having to go through the urban term. At present, these streets have a dimension of about three meters "There are broader sections because the owner has already retreated his plot according to the regulations set out in the current 1990 plan".
The width of the new road is the main problem of these neighbors to which a large part of the current parcel would be eliminated "when we have already complied with the current law", Says one of the affected. The residents of the area do not understand why a road of that size, "Is not a road of 8 meters, 6 of rolling and 2 of sidewalk enough? Is there so much traffic in Xàbia that a road of the proposed dimensions is necessary?", Questions that the neighbors raised in the meeting.
The affected neighbors point out that living in this area is complicated, "It is difficult to find a home here because it is close to the town but it has residential quality, in addition they are family houses, of our ancestors and we do not understand that they now have to be removed without looking for an alternative just to create a wide road", Commented.
"This action does not correspond to an ecological image"
Among those affected, one of the neighbors pointed out that "This action of destroying green plots does not correspond to the ecological image and environmental care that the Mayor of Xàbia He wants to sell". Neighbors do not oppose the execution of the new route if this is necessary, "but we believe that the City Council should have transferred to the neighbors what action it intended to take in the area and in what way it affects. We believe that the actions can be studied and raised in another way without having to harm, practically all of the private properties or that the City Council maintain the meters contemplated in the current general plan ".
Also, some of the residents of the beginning of this street are also affected by the plan of reform of the road of Jesus Pobre where it is contemplated the creation of a roundabout that will give access to the street Italy.
