An old machine to select the passes will increase funds Soler Blasco Museum

The company Agrogata SL has donated to Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum Municipal Soler Blasco de Jávea an old machine for selecting raisins. The company, heir to the old CAS (Union Agricultural Cooperatives), with this donation increases the Museum's funds.

The device will become part of the exhibition set on the raisin of the Riurau de los Catalá d'Arnauda in the Montaner Park. It is a wood and iron mill with a base of 294x180 centimeters and about three meters high. The machine was built in the first decades of the twentieth century in the Borrell workshops in Dénia and was used for different tasks in the process of handling the raisin already made.

The mechanism that was operating was very simple. Passes poured into a hopper on top of it passed to a cylinder and carrying the ball to a large screens where it was picked up, separating the stems of raisins. An electric motor, in its early steam, triggering mechanisms and transmitting the rotational movement by straps and wooden wheels.
