A Dutch resident, author of 'Xàbia: Historic Villa', donates three copies of the book for bibliographic funds

14 March 2019 - 15: 53

El Javea Town Hall has received, from the hand of the Dutch resident Cornelius Wiedenhoff, three copies of his book "Xàbia: Historic Villa. History of a small town on the shores of the Mediterranean within the context of the history of Spain", each one written in a language: Spanish, English and Dutch.

The book tells the story of Xàbia. According to Wiedenhoff, when he established his home in Xàbia in the 2000 year, he felt the need to dive into its history and "Its fascinating past", so he started a search of the traces of the many cultures that have been part of this town.

After research, readings and visits to the Museum, this resident began writing articles for the local Dutch club, until in the end it all took shape in a book, which initially only published in their language and then translated into English and Spanish. Cornelius has sold around 2000 copies and now that he has done a second edition, he has wanted to donate some copies to remain in the bibliographic collections of the municipality.

Mayor, José Chulvi, has thanked this resident for the donation, which will be deposited in the Library of Xàbia so that it can be consulted by all interested parties.
