A new business fills the historic center of Xàbia with color

05 March 2024 - 11: 15

Art takes over the narrow streets of the historic center of Xàbia thanks to Mónica Torres. A woman with a degree in Fine Arts and a postgraduate in Teacher Training who fulfills one of her dreams, opening her first painting studio. She did it at 15 Tossal de Dalt Street.

The new business fills this urban center with color and life. His own works open the door to the room. Inside, training is the protagonist. Torres teaches children and adults his passion, that of drawing. «Since I was little I liked to paint and do crafts. It was at the age of 8 when she started with oil painting classes and over the years I have been training myself, acquiring new knowledge about painting and its various techniques and
styles. Now, 20 years later, I fulfill my dream of dedicating myself to my passion,” says Mónica.

And oil is still his painting base. Although he does not define himself with a specific style, Torres points out that he has always relied on oil realism; «I seek to transmit emotions and sensations through the combination of colors, shapes and textures. I like to experiment with different styles and materials. “I love the intensity of the colors and the texture that can be achieved with this technique,” says the artist.

Thus, art gallery and painting classes are the new attraction of Xàbia. After teaching classes in Catalonia, the young woman from Xàbia is opening up a future in this space by offering classes to small groups of all ages and all levels, thus paying greater attention to each student.

Those interested in learning about his works, placing an order or simply learning can come to his new studio during the afternoons from Tuesday to Friday from 16:00 p.m. to 20:00 p.m. or on Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 13:00 p.m. hours.

We hope that in the future their works occupy municipal halls as they did years ago with art jove.
