Still thinking about the fire inside the Marina Alta, this afternoon, around 18:00 p.m., a small fire broke out on abandoned farmland on the Camí Montgó de Xàbia. A scare that has immediately put all available means to work, since the area is surrounded by houses at the foot of the great mountain.
Fortunately, the rapid mobilization of means, both on land and in the air, has made it possible to control it quickly. The next update at 19:00 p.m. confirmed that the fire was already without flame and practically extinguished.
Firefighters from the Provincial Consortium, Forest Firefighters from the Generalitat and volunteers from Xàbia Civil Protection have participated in the extinction tasks. The Local Police and the Civil Guard have cut off access to the area where the operation was working to guarantee maximum security.
The authorities indicate that the Community remains on alert 3 due to the risk of fires, for which it is prohibited to make fires, barbecues within 500 meters of forest areas and the use of aerial pyrotechnics.
