A group of five voluntary mothers belonging to the NGO Grup Nodrissa has started breastfeeding support to new mothers admitted to the Dénia Hospital. In this way, new mothers who decide to breastfeed are supported by a group of expert and trained breastfeeding volunteers who explain tips, techniques and tips that facilitate the start of breastfeeding as during the first 24-48 hours of the baby's life It is the most vulnerable moment for the establishment.
The advice of Grup Nodrissa is carried out three days a week in the evenings in the hospital rooms. In this edition, two volunteer mothers have been trained in breastfeeding in FEDALMA (Spanish Federation of Breastfeeding Associations) thanks to the collaboration of Marina Salud that has subsidized the course. This cooperation represents another step in the commitment of marine health to the promotion of breastfeeding.
