Shortly before 18 hours a forest fire has started in the Rafal area of Xàbia, near the La Corona urbanization. Firefighters from the Alicante Provincial Consortium, Local Police, Civil Protection and aerial media have moved to the site.
According to reports from emergencies, three firefighters have been mobilized, three units of Forest Firefighters of the Generalitat Valenciana, two auto-pumps, aerial means and a forest coordinator. An Environmental Agent and a first intervention unit also attend.
The rapid intervention has caused the smoke to diminish considerably in a few minutes causing the fire to be controlled in just 30 minutes and the aerial means, a pumper and the two forest firefighters are removed.
At 19: 00 hours remain effective smothering the flames and cooling the affected area.
At 20: 50 hours, Firefighters of the Diputación de Alicante announce that the fire is extinguished. CPIFA reports that it is not a forest fire.
