Health confirms an outbreak in Xàbia with 10 affected

January 27 from 2021 - 07: 46

The daily report provided by the Ministry of Health on the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic in the Community showed, yesterday afternoon, outstanding data that affects Xàbia and the Marina Alta region.

For the first time, the town Xàbia registers the largest outbreak of infections since the beginning of the pandemic or rather, since last August, which is when this data began to be provided. 10 infections are those that have been registered in this outbreak of social origin.

But this is not the only bad news, since in this same update, a total of 11 outbreaks of the 70 detected throughout the Community, correspond to the Marina Alta, of which 10 of the 11 are of social origin. The only exception is in Beniarbeig, the outbreak of educational origin affecting three cases.

By populations, yesterday, Dénia registered 3 outbreaks that add up to a total of 17 cases, 2 outbreaks in Pego that accumulate 15 new cases, one of them in which an outbreak with 10 cases has been detected as in Xàbia. Teulada has counted two outbreaks affecting 14 people.

Calp and El Verger are the other two municipalities that also appear on the list of new outbreaks detected by Public Health with 5 cases each.

With these 11 new outbreaks, the number of outbreaks in the region has risen to 128 since last August.

The truth is that indicating that an outbreak has a social, work, family origin, ... does not provide any useful or relevant information.
What is really important and at the same time effective, is to know exactly where the outbreak occurs.
If we know the origin, where it has been detected, we can all know if we have been in that place and take extra precautions.
Saying that it has a social origin is like saying nothing.
Here there is a collision of rights between the right to privacy of people and the right to security of the population. It seems that more or more importance is given to the individual right of citizens not to disclose their health status, than to the right of society to effective protection and health care. Good or private law versus good or public law. … Which is more important?
I personally believe that the exact place where the outbreak occurs should be reported. This would give us all more peace of mind and would be very effective information to prevent the spread of covid.

You frequently report outbreaks of Covid19 of social origin but no indication where this took place.
