May 30 from 2017 - 00: 21

The General Directorate of Culture and Heritage is willing to resume the proposal of the Town hall de Jávea on the possible declaration as an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC) in favor of the windmills in its municipal area, as well as for the rest of the windmills in the Marina Alta region.

To carry out this processing action, a meeting has been held, in the Soler Blasco Museum, by the technicians of the General Directorate of Culture and Heritage with representatives of the town councils of the region, since the fact that they are protected is given because they are symbols of traditional architecture and technology, forming a set of singular value that characterizes the landscape of this territory.

Currently, the region has a total of 29 windmills that are protected as Local Relevance: five in Dénia, twelve in Jávea, two in Pedreguer, three in Gata de Gorgos, two in Teulada, three in Benissa, one in Llíber and one in Calpe.
