Temperature record in the Mediterranean Sea

The temperature of the Mediterranean Sea reaches a new record. During the afternoon of yesterday, Tuesday, around 17:00 p.m., a buoy located in Valencia registered 29,72ºC. Without a doubt, a very high record that had not been recorded until today.

Since records have been taken, according to the Alicante Climatology Laboratory, the highest temperature of the sea occurred on August 7, 2015, marking the mercury 28,65ºC.

And it is that, this summer, who bathes in the sea to cool off, notices that the water is hotter than usual. This fact, according to experts, may produce torrential rains at the end of the summer season.

In addition to the increase in temperature in the sea, it is also noticeable in the environment. The nights are very hot, exceeding 20º several days and during the day, the mercury exceeds 35º in Xàbia and the region.

For the next few days, the weather forecast continues along the same lines; sunny sky with temperatures between 22 and 36 degrees centigrade, being able to reach 40º on Saturday, August 13.
