The mayor of relationships with residents, Doris Courcelles, It announced that soon the British consul will visit the municipality to address doubts over 5.000 residents of English origin concerning the issue of "Brexit".
The mayor itself, was assisted in Alicante at a conference convened by the County Council to discuss the scope of Brexit and to what extent it will affect residents of the province. The conference had as speakers Tim Hemmings, Minister Counselor of the Embassy, Sarah Jane Morris, the British consul, as well as a lawyer specializing in international law.
One of the first steps have been taken to keep this core of informed residents is opening a page on the social network, Facebook, "Brits in Spain".
Doris Courcelles commented that "Officially there is no change since the output conditions UK are to negotiate and will also depend on the agreements that states want to achieve". It must mean that this process can be extended up to two years, so until its conclusion there will be no changes.
The mayor said the biggest concerns of Britons are focused on health services, pensions transfer, renewal of passports, international business and procedures for obtaining dual citizenship.
