The Public Library of Jávea will present Monday 31 of March at 19 hours, the book of nautical history "Spanish Navigators in the Pacific Ocean", by engineer Luis Laorden Jiménez, a publication that has just launched its second edition, corrected and expanded, and has received the seal of the Marca España.
The event will be attended by the author, which will be presented by Javier Ortiz de Zúñiga Echeverría, former Ambassador Head of Delegation of the European Union in New Caledonia.
The book takes us to the sea Vasco Nunez de Balboa discovered in 1513 and stories of Spanish travelers who crossed its waters from the late fifteenth century to the end of the war with the United States in 1898. The narrative offers a comprehensive view of history, relationships between facts and political reasons.
Laorden, engineer of roads, canals and ports and former professor at California Polytechnic University in this volume provides a document of great historical value.
