La House of Culture de Xàbia hosts this Friday, January 11, the presentation of the book Els Parlars Valencians, a work on the linguistic richness signed by Vicent Beltran Calvo and Carles Segura-Llopes and that has been edited by the Servei de Publicacions of the Universitat de València.
The appointment, in which in addition to the authors will participate the councilman of Culture, Quico Moragues and the teacher of Llengua Valenciana Àngels Buigues, is at 20 hours and free access.
Els Parlars Valencians is the result of an exhaustive dialectological field work in more than 250 municipalities of the Valencian geography, studies that have been worthy of the IEC Lexicography and Onomastics Award Joan Coromines 2017.
The publication, which is in its second edition, is designed for all audiences and incorporates graphics such as word maps that allow you to discover the great linguistic variety at a glance. In addition to the philological interest, this book wants to vindicate the self-esteem of every dialectal variety, the way of speaking of each town, its peculiar and own words.
