In view of this new Law, the parliamentary group of Podem in Las Cortes Valencianas, in the general policy debate, has claimed to incorporate the funds of the provincial councils into the budget of the Generalitat. "With this law it would be possible to leave the Valencian deputations reduced to their minimum expression, and transfer their powers and resources to the town halls, associations, metropolitan areas and in the Generalitat itself, where they can better serve the citizenship", manifest from the purple formation.
Also, from Podemos they assure that "Valencian territory has been one of the main sources of corruption and opacity. The provincial councils have exercised as an instrument for clientelism by which local resources are not distributed according to social needs, but by party interests.
In addition, they stand out from the Municipal Circle that "They have a high margin of discretionary spending that has been used to benefit friendly municipalities, causing resources that come mostly from transfers from the State or the Generalitat".
We can emphasize that we must give the municipalities greater financial autonomy by providing them with adequate resources and favoring cooperation among them through regional pooling. "In this way, the costs of services could be reduced by offering them together and developing common promotion strategies", says the formation of Podemos.
