New measures in the Community: End to the curfew, without limits in social gatherings and opening of nightlife

The president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, accompanied by the Minister of Health, Ana Barceló, has appeared, after the meeting of the Interdepartmental Table for the management and prevention of Covid-19, to announce the new measures against the coronavirus. Puig has announced that after seven and a half months the curfew ends. A relief from restrictions that brings hope to the hospitality industry and thus an economic recovery of society.

The curfew will decline as of next Monday, "and after 226 days, the maximum of 10 people in social and family gatherings ends. Complete freedom of assembly in houses and streets is back," said the head of the Consell that has added that it is followed responsibly and maintaining caution.

Among the other novelties, the nightlife will reopen until two in the morning and will have a capacity of 100% on terraces and 50% indoors, although dancing will continue to be prohibited. The president stressed that "the idea is to progressively advance in the extension of nightlife hours, but we must avoid crowds".

Puig has stated, regarding the curfew, that "as already said, not one day more than necessary", and the data of the last weeks support that this measure is taken, "the Community has been at low risk of eleven weeks. spread of the coronavirus, with an incidence below 50 and it is still one of the lowest in Europe, although in recent days the incidence has grown slightly due to the opening measures (end of the perimeter closure) ".

These measures will come into effect on Tuesday, June 8 and will be in effect until the end of June. Likewise, the Generalitat eliminates the capacity in places of worship and agrees advances in the groups of guided excursions and in summer schools.
