Jesus Nazareno was appointed as perpetual mayor 50 years ago. On the occasion of this anniversary, the Javea Town Hall and the Cofradía de Jesús Nazareno will prepare a special program of events for next October. One of the outstanding events is that the image of the Nazarene will come down again this year, in pilgrimage, to stay for a week in the Parish of San Bartolomé.
It will be on October 8 when the image goes down to the town from the hermitage of Calvario. Along with this act, today representatives of the Brotherhood have met with the mayor, José Chulvi and the party councilors, Antonio Miragall and Culture, Quico Moragues, to coordinate the program of celebratory events that will accompany this anniversary.
It should be noted that the Cofradía del Nazareno will receive on October 9, within this week of celebration in honor of Jesús Nazareno, the Vila de Xàbia award for its civic values.
