30 June 2017 - 16: 29

The family Cruañes, a family with great interest and esteem for the local history of Xàbia, has made an important donation to the Municipal Archaeological Museum Soler Blasco. It has been Godrofredo Cruanes who has donated 29 pieces of archaeological and historical value that for several generations have been part of the legacy of the Cruanes.

The set contains 29 of pieces of metal, ceramics and stone that cover a wide chronology, from prehistoric times to the modern age. Among them, it stands out a flat ax and a dagger with cutouts and central rib, both of bronze and originating from the space known as Coveta del Flare or well of Jaime Cruañes Signes in the Cap Martí. There is also a round "pingante" (bronze pendant) dating back to medieval times (late fifteenth century), about 6, 8 centimeters in diameter and engraved on one side with two angels holding a shield with the Gothic letter "Y" . Apparently, this jewel appeared during the construction of the road to the lighthouse of the Cap de la Nau.

The lot includes pieces of 17th-century crockery, prehistoric chronological volcanic axes, possibly a paleolithic bifaz, arrowheads or projectiles, among others.

The Museum will record in its inventory that these pieces, which have already gone on to expand the museum collections, have been donated by Godofredo Cruañes, who has considered the Museum as a guarantee of conservation and custody of the cultural heritage of Xàbia, a gesture that the Town hallThe councilman of Culture, Quico Moragues, And the director of the Museum, Ximo Bolufer, want to thank publicly.
