More than 500 people have participated in activities Black Xàbia

The first edition of Xàbia Negra brings together more than 500 people. The diversity of activity that took place during the week made the genre will enjoy fond of black these days. Film screenings, panel discussions, book signings and music, have been some of the events held, highlighting the close of the festival with awards for literature, film and photography at the Cine Jayan.

The winner of the stories was the Valencian playwright Arturo Sánchez, with the work L'assassí d'escriptors nòrdicsA fiction set precisely in a Mediterranean literary festival and that reflects on own genre boundaries. The prize was awarded on behalf of the jury, the Pepa Guardiola writer and editor DrassanaToni Sabater.

In the photography category, Xusa Bou won the award for best local author with the work Revenge. The second prize went to José Antonio Vives Fi de festa to sea. And the winner was Juanjo Mayor with the photo entitled Shall we play?. The councilor of Culture gave the prize, Quico MoraguesWho pointed out that the intention is to grow Black Xàbia in future editions and consolidate "as a reference for gender lovers".

As for short films Xàbia Black Film Festival, Among the more than 70 pieces presented around the world, the second prize went to Roulette Álvaro Carmona and Underground Miguel Carmona. The prize of the contest was for the piece entitled Burned Jaime Valdueza, who was unable to attend the gala, but sent a recorded message.

Finally, the Mayor of Xàbia, José Chulvi, He presented an honorary award as a mentor to Black Xàbia writer Vicente Garrido. Vicente has a long relationship with the municipality and in fact used as a recurring scenario in his novels, as well as some of his best known establishments.

José Chulvi, in his speech, thanked the collaboration in the festival to all the participating authors (Felip Bens, Toni Hill, Toni Reig, Vicente Garrido, Nieves Abarca, Anna Moner, Josep Franco, Carlos Aimeur, Núria Cadenes and Jordi Llobregat), to the members of the different juries, to the Photographic Association of Xàbia and to the School of Cinema Riurau for their collaboration, to the Jayan Cinema and to the sponsors of the first edition of Xàbia Negra: Bodegas Arráez and the Bromera publishing house.
