As much for the occupation as for the climatic conditions, the month of July is the one that more demand of water registers. The municipal water company, Amjasa, has provided consumption data for July and since the 19 day of this month has not been downloaded from the 30.000 cubic meters a day being the largest day of consumption the July 20, day that was injected into the network 32.600 cubic meters.
As stated by the municipal water company, the 50% of this flow comes from its own wells, installations in which a series of renovations and improvements in energy yields will be undertaken. The other percentage comes from the desalination plant, this plant has in operation 3 of the 4 racks, which according to the daily demand, regulates its production.
Amjasa also makes sales to other towns in the region, during the month of August 22.890 cubic meters have been supplied to the consortium of water Teulada-Benitatxell and more than 500 daily cubic meters to Gata de Gorgos that make a total of 16.270 cubic meters during the July. Amjasa assures that there has been a fall of 93.036 cubic meters with respect to 2012 but they do not attribute this drop to consumption but to the result of the improvement in the performance of the distribution network. The decrease in consumption of the 5% yes that has occurred in the months of May and June for having spent a cooler and rainier spring than last year.
