More than 125 boulettes meet at the Poble Nou de Benitatxell in the recovered 'Trobada de Boixets'

After seven years without being celebrated, the Association of Housewives of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell has recovered the Trobada de Boixets, vainica and tulle, And has been a success. More than 125 bolilleras of the whole region have met in this meeting promoted by the new president of the Association, Marisa Pascual.

The lace of bobillos has a great tradition in the Marina Alta, and especially in El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, where more than 40 women attend classes of bolillos and other modalities of craftsmanship organized by the Association of Housewives.

In the meeting also participated the teachers Teresa Buigues, of bobbin, Ana Bolufer, of tulle, Pepita Mayans, of vainica, Kiska Roselló, of patchwork and Manoli Ortega, of embroidery. Participants from all over the region and even from Gandia, Oliva and Ontinyent enjoyed a pleasant day of coexistence with lunch and popular food.

The benefits of bobbin lace are many. As the president of the association explains, "Bobbing is a convenient therapy to kill stress. This hobby of lace requires a high level of concentration and mental agility. Its practice is recommended both for Alzheimer's patients and adolescents with hyperactivity. It is also very appropriate as a remedy to insomnia. When practiced in a group, as today, it increases the sociability of people. Therefore, it favors sociability ".

Ballerina teacher Teresa Buigues, for her part, says that "The bobbin lace is therapeutic, relaxes, makes you forget everything and also creates beautiful things. When silence occurs, the sound of the shock of the bobbins is heard as an analgesic.
