La Councilor for Education Xàbia, Montse Villaverde, participates these days in the XIII Meeting of the state network of educational cities that takes place in Lleida.
El Consell dels Xiquets and the mobility project Pas a Pas, Camins Escolars These are the two municipal experiences that Villaverde will present at the Encuentro. According to the mayor, "For two years Xàbia has been an active part of this state network of educating cities that brings together 184 municipalities and works. The educating city has to exercise and develop this function in parallel to the traditional ones (economic, social,
policy and service provision) ".
The implementation of these projects involves the training, promotion and development of all its inhabitants throughout life so that each person is increasingly able to express and develop their own potential. And, in the Consell dels Xiquets the treatment of minors is defended as full citizens and encourages their active participation and Pas a Pas, that wants to facilitate that the boys and girls go on foot to the school.
