This Monday, the fire alarm sounded early in the morning at the Santa María Magdalena del Poble Nou de Benitatxell school. Quickly, teachers and students have evacuated the building and have left the courtyard in an orderly fashion. Today was a drill, and all of them have shown that they are well prepared for a real situation.
After the alarm in the kitchen sounded, the fire protocol was automatically activated. Each teacher has organized his students in a row and they have calmly gone outside. Also, the last one to leave has closed the classroom door.
In a matter of a few minutes, the Local Police and Civil Protection volunteers have arrived at the center, who have verified that everything was in order inside the school.
The evacuation has been carried out in 3 minutes and 20 seconds, and the security forces have arrived in 5 minutes, a time that the organization of the drill has classified as "Excellent".
According to the regulations, in the case of educational centers with the characteristics of CEIP Santa María Magdalena, evacuation must be carried out in less than 10 minutes.
