The department of Services of Xàbia has begun today a series of visits to the schools of the municipality to approach to the students the advantages that it has to recycle. Schoolchildren are encouraged to be the ones who set an example in their homes both in this action and in other civic behaviors such as cleaning the streets or collecting feces from pets.
The councilor of the area, Kika Mata, and the inspector, Roberto Pastor, have been this morning in the Trenc d'Alba school with three primary classes, to which they have explained the functions of the municipal department and how to correctly separate the waste by containers so that they can be reused. The municipal representatives have listed the advantages of recycling both environmentally and economically. Schoolchildren have received explanations with concrete examples of the usefulness of giving them a "second Life" to the waste. One of these examples that has been put to you is that with four containers of cereals a book can be made. This prevents trees from being cut down.
In the talk it was possible to verify that the children are good connoisseurs of the color system to differentiate what they leave in each container. Knowledge acquired thanks to the awareness initiatives that are carried out from the school. Afterwards, the councilor accompanied on an excursion all the students to the Municipal Ecopark, where they have been able to continue learning and see how this infrastructure works.
