The new councilor responsible for the Municipal Market, Marta Bañuls and the delegate councilor of the Old Town, Ximo Segarra, accompanied by the President of the Association of Vendors of the Mercat, Rafa Expósito, visited on Tuesday morning, the different positions of the Mercat to engage in conversation with the different managers of the stalls.
Marta has cataloged the visit of "Very positive, since we have all met and we have given Mercat entrepreneurs to work together". And is that the goal of the government team, as indicated by the mayor, "It is to look for the best option. We are at your disposal for your proposals and events which are held every Friday with the First in the Mercat, which is being positive and is working very well."
Bañuls has pointed out that every Friday people from all parts of the town come to enjoy this leisure offer, which is optimal for the Mercat and the Historic Quarter.
The mayor has indicated that his intention is to occupy the positions that are free in the Mercat with demands that have these facilities and buyers with novel positions that are not in the Historic Center, "And in this way be a claim for buyers."
For its part, the head of the Casco Antiguo, Ximo Segarra, has called on neighbors and tourists to buy in the different shops of the Mercat and the historic center, "The Mercat is essential for the proper functioning of the old town. The Mercat needs the Old Town and it needs the Mercat to give merchants more life", said Segarra.
