El education deparment of the Javea Town Hall is working to implement a peer tutoring program (TEI) from the next academic year, aimed at reducing conflicts in classrooms based on interaction.
The mayor of Education, Montse Villaverde, Met this morning with the clinical and educational psychologist Andrés González Bellido. Gonzalez will give some training to the municipality 140 teachers, among teachers, social educators and municipal staff working in schools.
The trainer explained the main objectives of peer tutoring, such as improving school integration and work for a culture of inclusive school and non-violence. To achieve this it is necessary to encourage peer relationships are more satisfactory. Also expose the positive experiences in this field which have been developed in other countries or centers where the educational community facilitates coexistence.
Councilwoman Montse Villaverde said that this project which now form the education sector of the municipality will be launched from next year in both primary and secondary.
