Today Tuesday, 21 of February, Firemen of the Provincial Consortium of Alicante are concentrated before the Courts of Alicante, on the occasion of the celebration of the Contentious interposed in the Offer of Public Employment offered by the direction of the Consortium. The trade union requests that places be called to fill vacancies.
The Fire Department of the province denounces the precarious situation in which the provision of the Public Service is found, according to a statement, "Due to the shortage and aging of the workforce and the lack of willingness of the Administration to reverse this situation through the creation of stable employment and through future planning that guarantees its viability, as corresponds to a professional Public Emergency Service and with guarantees ".
The Firefighters demand that the Administration, with this concentration, take out all available vacant positions. "Among them, those occupied by interim workers, who have been in this situation for more than six years. The Law of the Basic Statute of the Public Employee and the Law of the Valencian Public Function establish that vacant positions held by interim officials must be included in the Job Offer corresponding to the year in which his appointment occurs and, if not possible, in the following one unless his depreciation is decided and this is not the case ", they say in the statement.
The Fire Consortium indicates that whatever the result of the sentence "This union section will continue to work in defense of a decent and professionalized Public Emergency Service, for stable and rights-based public employment."
