The Department of Sports of Xàbia is offering awareness-raising sessions on sustainability and recycling in the schools of the municipality in collaboration with the team of environmental educators of the concessionaire company of the street cleaning and waste management service (TETMA).
They are part of the Xàbia Esports-Educa program that has been carried out throughout the course in the centers as a complement as an extracurricular activity in the continuous school day.
These workshops have started today in the 5th grade classrooms of the CEIP L'Arenal with a great reception. The educators, through games and challenges, have reinforced concepts related to recycling and proper management of each type of waste.
Councilman sports, Alberto Tur, and the person in charge of Services, Kika Mata, have wanted to visit one of the classrooms to see the workshops that will continue over the coming weeks in all the centers and that will also have another theme related to healthy habits.
The team of environmental educators, made up of three professionals, has already begun its work in the municipality. Its start-up is coupled with the entry into force of the new waste management company and they will focus their efforts on advising and raising awareness among the population about the correct management of waste and the proper use of the system, in addition to other actions linked to The sustainability.
