The president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, announced this Saturday the extension of another 21 days of the preventive measures against the coronavirus adopted on August 17 to intensify the control of the pandemic and protect Valencians and Valencian women. These are restrictions that mainly affect the limitation of hours and capacity, as well as aspects related to family and social gatherings, and access to residences for the elderly and people with functional diversity.
The person in charge of the Consell has transferred this decision, which is scheduled to be published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana on Monday and which will come into effect next Tuesday, after holding a meeting by videoconference with the Minister of Universal Health and Public Health, Ana Barceló. "We must accelerate the control of the pandemic; therefore, we must be constant in the restrictive and preventive measures put in place to insist on this line", has indicated the president of the Generalitat.
Extension of preventive measures
The measures that are extended, approved on August 17 after the agreement reached in the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System, refer to the nightlife, hotels and restaurants, mass events, residences, tobacco and screening.
With regard to the nightlife, in the Valencian Community the suspension of the activity of discos, dance halls, karaoke and cocktail bars with and without live musical performances will be maintained.
Likewise, in the establishments of hotels and restaurants, terraces and beach bars or restaurants, the obligation to secure 1,5 meters between tables or groups of tables is maintained. This distance must be measured between the people closest to the different tables or groups, which must have a maximum occupancy of 10 people.
On the other hand, the hotel and restaurant establishments and services must continue to close no later than 01.00 hours. In addition, products or beverages from the establishment may not be consumed outside the limited area of the terrace, and collective or group consumption of beverages on the street or in public spaces is not allowed.
The new resolution includes, as a novelty with respect to the previous one, that the establishments considered as gambling casinos, bingo halls, game rooms, arcades and specific betting establishments must also close no later than 01.00 hours, without access of new customers can be allowed from 00:00 hours. These measures apply every day of the week, including holidays.
Furthermore, the recommendation to limit family or social gatherings, in private spaces, to a maximum of 10 people is maintained.
Respecto a events and activities whose expected influx exceeds 400 people, its organization continues to be subject to prior authorization by the General Directorate of Public Health and Addictions.
The prohibition of smoking on public roads or in outdoor spaces when a minimum interpersonal distance of at least 2 meters cannot be respected. This limitation applies to any inhalation device for tobacco, water pipes, hookahs or similar, including electronic cigarettes or vaping.
As indicated in the previous resolution and without prejudice to the corresponding development established by the Vice-presidency and Ministry of Equality and Inclusive Policies, in residences and social health centers, also in residential addiction treatment centers dependent on the Ministry of Universal Health, PCR tests will be carried out on all new admissions and readmissions at most 72 hours in advance.
Furthermore, residencesVisits to one person per resident are still limited, with extreme prevention measures, and with a maximum duration of one hour a day, with the exception of those people who are in the process of the end of life.
