El Javea Town Hall The first cleaning works for the forest and landscape restoration of the areas affected by the fire of September 11 and 12 began today in the morning. These tasks are part of the first services to which the City Council committed itself and that its brigades can carry out: felling and removal of burnt pine trees and logs near roads and highways, reconstruction of the waste collection point in La Plana and replacement of signage.
Yesterday afternoon, the Mayor of Xàbia José Chulvi, met in extraordinary session the responsible of the commission of Environment, Local Police, Amjasa and other political parties to analyze all the information available today about the fire, its origin, its extent and the subsequent measures to be taken. In short, to give part of how is the situation today and the measures taken so far.
At the moment, no notification has been received about the origin of the fire but at the meeting it was agreed to carry out a questionnaire of questions and send them to the Consellería de Medio Ambiente to know how the fire acted while it was active.
The Department of Environment of the City is the one who is coordinating the cleanup following the technical guidelines recommended after a forest fire and the direction of the natural park being authorized.
