To mark the International Women's Day, Xarxa de Dones of the Marina Alta, Under the motto Feminism to change the world, prepares the commemoration of March 8 in order to claim the rights of women.
This year, Xarxa celebrates its 25th anniversary and does so with the publication and presentation of the book 25 years of Feminism in the Marina Alta with which they record the life of the association over a quarter of a century: history, articles, testimonials, photographs, documents, minutes, participations, memory of the March 8 Awards, review of the 46 women awarded and of the associations.
The book has been created with the will to promote the history of feminism, highlight the value of women's work and make visible the great work carried out to improve society and achieve freedom and equality.
From the Xarxa de Dones, thanks to the Institute for the Comarcals of the Marina Alta for the co-edition, as it allows them to extend the planned initial run from 200 to 900 copies.
The presentation of this copy will be the Thursday February 27, at 20:00 p.m., in the House of Culture of Xàbia. The presentation will include Júlia González, president of the association, Pepa Guardiola and Rosa Sala, coordinators of the writing and composition of the book, Rosa Seser, president of l'Institut d'Estudis Comarcals de la Marina Alta and Montse Villaverde, Councilor for Equality of Javea Town Hall.
On the other hand, to commemorate March 8, the Xarxa of Gifts of the Marina Alta summons, for Thursday Winners will be announced in March, at 19:30 p.m., a protest demonstration through the streets of Dénia and the reading of a manifesto. Subsequently, at 21:00 p.m., at the Los Arcos de Pedreguer Restaurant, a regional women's dinner will take place at which the March 8 Premium Rosa Cobo Badía, professor of Gender Sociology, director of the Center for Gender and Feminist Studies at the University of A Coruña.
