The visit of the Friends of Thiviers and the Sorollius Festival fill the historic center of Xàbia with atmosphere

This weekend, the historic center of Xàbia is experiencing a great festive atmosphere with the celebration of the Sorollius Festival and the visit of the Amics de Thiviers who were given a reception at the Javea Town Hall yesterday saturday

The Amics de Thiviers and Amis de Jávea Associations spend a few days living together in Xàbia within the twinning events between the two municipalities. The event has had an exhibition of popular dances from both areas, the Grup de Danses del Portitxol and The Sent German Dau Perigord and who, in the parade, walked through the streets of the old town, from the Riurau d'Arnauda to the church square where they were received by the mayor and councilors.

The first mayor, José ChulviHe stressed that 45 is already years of relationship between Thiviers and Xàbia "and we want the story to continue". Chulvi made mention of the people who are fostering this relationship and pointed to Ismael Doménech, "a person who is no longer with us and took the twinned population to Moors and Christians parties, living chess and soccer among other things ".

Meanwhile, the president of Amics de Thiviers, Fina Doménech, told how the relationship between the two populations began and how it will continue. Doménech highlighted the work carried out by associations that always have municipal support and the figure of their father, Ángel Doménech, who initiated this union.
