El Javea Town Hall has found a formula to solve the accessibility problems of the elevated area on Cristo del Mar street (known as el marge), thus responding to a neighborhood demand.
The Consistory has commissioned a removable ramp with a handrail on both sides that has already begun to be installed and that will thus allow people with reduced mobility to access the section of street that is in height and in which there are both homes and catering establishments.
The solution has involved a municipal investment of 21.622 euros and the company Cholbi Locksmith has made the metal ramp and is in charge of its installation at the end closest to the junction with Pius X.
With this solution, a response to neighborhood demand is provided and accessibility in the municipality is improved. The construction of a fixed ramp was ruled out by the municipal technicians since right in the space where it has to be placed there are potable water pipes, so raising this foundation on top would make any repair in the water network difficult.
We must congratulate the city council for this installation, which is very necessary for the disabled and elderly people who cannot go up or down stairs.
