Poblera producer, Paula Cervera, presents the documentary 'La Caixa Negra' on the life of musician Francisco Esteve

The production company, Paula Cervera, will present the documentary "The Black Caixa"About the life of the musician and composer Francisco Esteve and the singer, Amalia Cuerda, wife of the composer known by the stage name of Lía Delby.

Together they toured half of Europe and the Middle East with the musical group "The Boys of Spain". Paco Esteve's work is very extensive, and is considered one of the best composers that Valencian music has had.

Paula Cervera, who worked as a producer on RTVV from the beginning, has now embarked on her own production company, ON AIR, along with four other partners from the now defunct 9 Channel. The discovery of some photographs in a trail dragged them to make this documentary.

"My production partner, Jose Carlos Díaz, director of the documentary, found a box of photographs on a trail in which appeared a woman of appearance Hollywood next to a group of musicians. Jose Carlos bought the box and began to investigate the origin of these photographs until he discovered that they belonged to the prolific Valencian musician and composer Francisco Esteve and his wife"Explains Paula Cervera.

However, the photographic documentation they had led to the production company "ON AIR"to focus his work on the figure of the Valencian composer, who also had testimonies from direct family, musicians and composers who know and value his work.

The journey of research that Jose Carlos Díaz made in his day, in the fictional plane, the actress Sara Vallés, best known for her role in the Alquería Blanca. In the documentary, as happened in reality, an irrepressible impulse leads Julia to want to find out the identity of the portraits.  

In this way, you will meet Lia Delby, the voice of "The Boys of Spain", And also the international adventure of this Valencian orchestra and the atmosphere of the cabarets of the sixties. What is found, through testimonies of musicologists, friends and family, is with the surprising career of Francisco Esteve, who has composed almost a hundred pasodobles and marches, and one of the ones that has won the most times. First Prize of Music Festera de Alcoi.

The team

The film has been produced by the company On Air with the collaboration of Visual Productions. It has been directed by José Carlos Díaz, who also writes the screenplay with Francesc Picó and performed by Xavier Cortés. The production is by Paula Cervera and the musical setting is by Luis Prado (Mr. Mostaza). Filming took place in locations in Alicante, Muro, Valencia and Barcelona.

Included in the program of events in honor of Santa Cecilia'15

The documentary will be screened within the acts that are celebrated in honor of Santa Cecília and that will begin on Saturday, 21 in November, at 17: 00 hours with the parade of collection of the new musicians who join the Band.
