November 19 from 2018 - 13: 25

This last weekend the Valencian Local Security Congress took place in Benidorm. An appointment in which was present and participated the Local Police of Xàbia. The main theme of this meeting was The prevention of the 21st century.

The delegation of Xàbia was headed by the mayor of Public Safety and Emergencies, Pepa Gisbert, and the chief inspector, José Antonio Monfort, who was one of the members of the table entitled Associations of municipalities, solidarity and collaboration between local administrations in matters of prevention and security.

Monfort spoke about the regional pact on security that unites the Marina Alta and is an example for other areas, a plan that coordinates security policies and collects commitments such as collaboration and assignment of human and material resources between the Navy's police Discharge in case of emergency, optimization of services, standardization of work protocols and procedures or coordination of public safety actions and safety policies.

For her part, the Councilor for Justice, Public Administration, Democratic Reforms and Public Liberties, Gabriela Bravo, explained that public security in the 21st century passes, necessarily, "for seeking better coordination with other security and emergency bodies" .

The consellera made mention to the Law of Coordination of Local Police, that is in force from January of this year "With it we will consolidate a new public security model that enhances the prevention demanded by this society" and added that these objectives "They can only be achieved if we have more and better prepared Local Police Corps, with lower rates of interinity between their ranks and being the perfect example of equality between men and women."

For this, the Consell has already begun to develop this law with the Decree 180 (last October) that aims to end the high number of interim suffered by the local police forces of the Valencian Community.
