The Local Police of El Poble de Nou de Benitatxell has started a campaign to raise awareness among drivers in the areas of Calistros, Panorama and Les Fonts as they are the most used routes by drivers as an alternative to avoid the traffic lights of the urban center. that is causing traffic jams and collapses on rural roads.
The agents warn that, although at the moment they only carry out awareness campaigns on demand of the neighbors and in collaboration with the DGT, soon will be placed speed bumps and radars.
The problem, which has been going on for a long time, was aggravated by the notable increase in traffic on these streets, due to the increased frequency of people getting on the top del Sol (about 1.200 each day). The information campaign is the first consensual action after the meetings held by the mayor of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, Miguel Ángel García, with the residents of the affected areas to address the problems of traffic saturation that they have been suffering for years. "Problems that we know are generating a citizen concern that, of course, this mayor and the councilors share and are determined to solve", Garcia pointed.
