The Xabiera painter Joana Bisquert has been awarded First Prize in the twentieth edition of the prestigious Desideri Lombarte Painting Contest 2023, held in Peñarroya de Tastavins (Teruel). The delivery ceremony took place last Saturday, at the municipality's Cultural Hall, with the presence of the mayor, the councilor of culture and the attendance of a large audience.
The award ceremony took place in an emotional atmosphere, even the town's music band performed the pasodoble Xàbia before the start of the event. This musical moment became a beautiful anecdote, since it coincided with the celebration of the local festival and the procession of the patrons.
