04 June 2019 - 16: 27

The Autism Association Jávea held last weekend a ceremony closing the course in which the students of the CreaTEA program presented their work.

The participants of CreaTEA (educational innovation program that aims to turn these specific characteristics into great learning abilities by developing creativity in people with Autism Spectrum Disorder through technology and science) have worked in small groups carrying out a research and documentation work on a scientific and / or technological subject under the direction of the person responsible for the psychopedagogical intervention service.

The participants in this project have worked on research and documentation skills following scientific methodologies and reliable information search criteria, and have also applied synthesis processes and communication skills in front of an audience (their relatives and close friends).

From the Association "We thank the Obra Social de la Caixa, who have funded the project and thanks to them this first edition has been possible."

From the Association explain that people with Autism Spectrum Disorder have a cognitive style with its own characteristics, which cause traditional educational methods are not effective to promote the learning of this group.

The project has helped to give a positive image of people with ASD as creative people who with motivation, effort and planning can achieve positive results.
