One of lime and one of sand in the new data on the evolution of the coronavirus in the Marina Alta region. According to the update provided by Public Health, the Dénia Health Department has registered, since last Friday, 14 new positive cases of coronavirus, a very positive figure, since it shows a notable decrease in infections in the region, taking into account account that 39 new cases were counted 4 days ago.
With the new data, the Marina Alta accumulates 1881 positives confirmed by PCR since the beginning of the pandemic, of which 135 correspond to the last 14 days.
The bad news is given by the death registered in recent days, which brings to 35, the people who have lost their lives due to this pandemic. The victim was a neighbor of El Verger.
With regard to infections in Xàbia and other municipalities in the region, the Ministry update indicates one less case than in the previous day. At the moment, Xàbia has 224 confirmed positives since last March, compared to the 225 that it indicated in the update on Friday.
The explanation has this fact, from the Department of Health they indicate that the remaining positive cases in the total of the municipalities is due to the fact that the contagion (or PCR test) was confirmed in that locality but the affected person has continued the confinement in another of the municipalities, so they are added to the locality to which they have stayed and not in which the test has been carried out.
The cumulative incidence of the virus continues to decline in the Marina Alta region, standing at 78,6 cases per 100.000 inhabitants.
Coronavirus situation by municipalities
As we have reported, the total number of infections from the Department of Health registers 14 new positive cases, but in the count by population, comparing the data provided today with respect to the previous day, the number of infections in greater, specifically, 18; even so, a low figure compared to last Friday's total.
