Due to rain and, above all, the strong winds, has suspended the third edition of the craft fair in the Plaza de Correos de Jávea.
The first two editions were well received and the artisans wanted to set up their stalls, but although the sun came out, the strong gusts of air made it impossible. They will have to wait for the next week as long as the weather permits.
For February 7, a dozen authentic artisans are expected, presenting their creations in leather, wood, clay, cloth, resin and metals. One of the exhibitors will return to demonstrate how to make stone nougat in a giant mortar and with ingredients as simple as they are natural: almonds, sugar, cinnamon and lemon peel.
The mini-theater "More cool than an 8", which could not act on the 31st, will do it next week with its "Stories of Grandmother Plum and Squirrel Pilla", a family puppet show.
The artisans have good hopes that the lovers will come the following week on Valentine's Day, because there is no better gift than a personalized thing, made with skill and love by a true artisan. And since that weekend is also celebrated the feast of Carnival, surely there will be some artisan who is in charge of painting very original faces.
The weekly fair is held every Saturday (weather permitting!) From 10 am to 14 pm in front of the Post Office (Plaza Marina Alta) a few meters from the historic center of Jávea and with a large public car park.
