The Poble Nou de Benitatxell School of Music and Dance dismisses the course with its first virtual auditions

26 June 2020 - 14: 21

The crisis of COVID-19 and the confinement have not prevented the students of the School of Music and Dance of El Poble Nou in Benitatxell from continuing to enjoy these arts like never before. If they can't go to the end-of-course audition, the audition will go home. That has been the philosophy that has produced the first virtual auditions in the history of the school.

Camera in hand, around 150 students have participated from their homes in the recording of music and dance videos that will be released on the Facebook and YouTube channels of the Town hall from June 29 to July 5, at 18:00 p.m. Thus, seven days will be devoted to auditions, with one day a week for each family or instrumental and dance group.

Monday June 29 will be the turn of the metal wind students. They will be followed, in order from Tuesday to Sunday, by wood wind schoolchildren; percussion; piano and guitar; dolçaina and danses; ballet, modern dance and choir; and garden and musical initiation.

From the Music School they have shown their satisfaction for the high participation and enthusiasm of their students, who say goodbye to a strange but successful course. Despite the COVID-19 crisis, a total of 11 students have managed to complete this elementary school year 2019-2020, a record figure since the school's formation in 2003. They are Anna Buigues (sax), Anna Mateu (oboe ), Emma Marqués (flute), Ivan Gómez (horn), Joan Salort (percussion), Llorenç Morell (sax), Lucas Chapman (sax), Mª Francesca Koks (guitar), Marina Marqués (flute), Pau Català (piano) and Paula Estalrich (piano). Much of them will continue their music studies at the professional conservatory.
