The entrance to Customs del Mar retrieves a llaüt donated by Pedro Morató

November 12 from 2014 - 18: 21

Years ago, the island formed on the left at the end of Cristo del Mar street from the port, housed a small boat. A llaüt typical of our bay that caused the admiration of the elderly - who recalled times of artisanal fishing at the entrance to the fishing district - and that aroused the curiosity of the youngest, among whom a server author of this article is , who longed to know how and what the boat had transported to that place so far from the sea and had left stranded there.

For a few days, that same island has recovered his boat. Not the same, of course, but another very bright little llaüt with bright red and white.

The boat belongs to the sailor, already retired, Pedro Morató and it was built in a totally artisanal way by the expert in boats and fishing gear. Amadeo Ros does 65 years ago in some workshops of the town.

Joaquín, the name that heads the small ship, has been used until very recently by the Morató family for artisanal fishing. Now, after a grooming and treatment of the wood and its paint, it happens to occupy a place more exposed to the public, far from the sea, but head of entrance to the neighborhood of Aduanas del Mar.

The mayor, the Councilor for Services and Pedro Morató
