El Town hall of Jávea, from the Heritage area, intends to repair the dome of the hermitage of Calvario seeking to solve the humidity problem suffered by the emblematic building in which the council had to intervene a year ago to fix leaks, replace the plastering of the main facade and paint it in order to temporarily solve the damage caused by the leaks.
Antonio MiragallCouncilman Heritage, proposes a comprehensive rehabilitation project of the building. This will attempt to completely solve the problem on the cover, not without complication, given the layout plan of the architectural monument. Given the quality of the chapel (declared of Local Relevance) repair it requires a specialized architect in the restoration of buildings and monuments.
To carry out this renovation, the City Council has reserved a game of 110.000 euros to fund the work, though, as sign from the Department of Heritage, the project has already completed the first of the steps being must first be performed approved by the Governing Board.
Cover Calvario is composed of a roof gable formed by a higher nave and two side chapels lower height and a dome supported by a drum structure glazed tile in blue color representing the element characteristic and differentiator local building famous.
