The Valencian Community registers 57 discharges and 39 positive cases of coronavirus in the last day

01 July 2020 - 09: 07

This Tuesday 39 new cases have been confirmed since the last update: 16 in Castellón (1.622 in total); 8 in the province of Alicante (3.971 in total); 14 in the province of Valencia (5.984 in total); and 1 unassigned. In addition, you must add 4 previous unassigned.

Despite this upturn, the Valencian Community currently has a cumulative incidence rate of the virus of 2,86, well below the Spanish average, which stands at 8,50. Even so, the Minister of Universal Health and Public Health, Ana Barceló, has wanted to launch a message of "prudence" for the entire population: "More than ever it is time for us to take care of ourselves to take care of others. The virus is still with us and we have to keep moving forward."

Regarding the additions, they continue to rise and 57 have been registered since the update on Monday. Regarding the discharges, Public Health is carrying out a review and update of the databases where the information of all the cases that were detected in the highest peaks of the epidemic wave is collected. These cases are those that were detected before May 11, the date on which the procedure changed and which has made the information available with a small offset, normally between 24 and 48 hours.

This regularization process is being carried out, little by little, throughout Spain and these are the data that the Ministry of Health will regulate in turn. Throughout last week and until this Tuesday, epidemiological discharges have been reviewed and, after the process of studying all cases, Public Health confirms that the total number of discharges in the Valencian Community amounts to 16.624.

Thus, 314 cases are currently active, representing 1,7% of the total number of positives. The number of patients admitted to Valencian hospitals at the moment is 60 people, 7 of them in intensive care units: 6 in the province of Castellón, 1 of them in the ICU; 25 in the province of Alicante, 4 of them in the ICU; and 29 in the province of Valencia, 2 of them in the ICU.

Two coronavirus deaths have been reported, making the total 1.475 people. The total number of tests carried out for the detection of the coronavirus has been 451.051, of which 328.192 have been through PCR and 122.859 through rapid tests.

In residences, today there is a positive case in 7 centers of the Community, but in the last hours there has been no record of any positive or deceased in these facilities.
