The Imperial College report concludes that 450.000 deaths have been avoided in Spain due to the application of the strict social isolation measures that were introduced in mid-March to prevent the spread of infections. "These are results that can be interpreted as an external validation of our work since they are absolutely aligned with our estimates", has added.

The study by the Generalitat data analysis group, says Berenguer, already pointed out three weeks ago that the application and compliance with the containment measures have prevented some 400.000 infections and 42.000 deaths, compared to 12.834 positive cases and 1.279 people deceased registered on the date of work.

These data were obtained from an epidemiological projection prepared from the data of the mobility study of the mobile phone network promoted by the Generalitat, which confirmed that 92% of the population remained in their area of ​​residence on non-official days. working days, while 88% did so on working days.

The group responsible for this work, led by the Commissioner of the Generalitat for Valencia's AI Strategy, Nuria Oliver, is made up of experts and volunteer experts from the Universitat Jaume I, the Universitat de València, the Universitat Politècnica de València, the University Miguel Hernández, the University of Alicante, the CEU Cardenal Herrera University, and the public health research foundation Fisabio.
